Dr Gaya was born in Sri Lanka and moved to Melbourne with her family when she was 3 years old. She studied at RMIT University in Melbourne, completing a Bachelor of Applied Science (Complementary Medicine) and a Master of Clinical Chiropractic in 2008. She practiced in Adelaide for two years, where she received extensive training in Applied Kinesiology and Retained Neonatal Reflexes. She returned to Melbourne to practice with one of the founding members of the International College of Applied Kinesiology (Australasia), where she received further training in Applied Kinesiology. Dr Gaya also worked as a locum chiropractor in a busy paediatric practice, where she gained additional skills and knowledge in the treatment of infants and children.
Dr Gaya has worked in multiple practices as an associate, locum and practice owner. She loves working with people of all ages, including babies and children. In particular, she enjoys working with women during pregnancy to assist with the pregnancy, birth process and post-birth. She is certified in the Webster Technique, which is specifically aimed at correcting neuromuscular imbalances of the pelvis and sacrum during pregnancy. Dr Gaya is also certified in Applied Kinesiology with the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK). She uses a variety of techniques to help restore and maintain your health and wellbeing, including Applied Kinesiology, Retained Neonatal Reflexes, Webster Technique, Craniosacral Therapy, Diversified Manual Adjusting and Activator Technique.
In her spare time, Dr Gaya enjoys relaxing with family and friends, keeping fit, salsa dancing and cooking delicious healthy meals. Dr Gaya is dedicated and passionate about helping you achieve your health goals.
