What Is An Enhanced Primary Care Plan?

An EPC plan is put together by a GP to help manage chronic conditions. It includes, but is not limited to, recurring injuries, cancer, cardiovascular illness, diabetes, and stroke.

An EPC allows for a total of up to five subsidised consultations with any referred allied health practitioner per calendar year. The EPC plan helps people claim some of the costs of allied health services, such as chiropractic, physiotherapy, osteopathy, podiatry, and dietetics.

An EPC may be issued by your GP at any time of the year and remain open until the number of services the GP has specified on the referral have been used. Any unused services of December 31st can continue to be used but are subject to the maximum limit of five consultations per calendar year (i.e. January 1 – December 31). An EPC can be renewed each year, but you will need a new referral from your GP each year.

True Health Solutions is not a bulk-billing clinic, so there may be a gap payment for each consultation. The amount will depend on the duration of your appointment. Our team will consider your treatment priorities and financial situation to propose the best-case scenario for you.

Once you have obtained your EPC referral, contact us on 03 9387 4061 if you have any specific questions regarding the EPC plan.

Please note that Medicare rebates and Private Health Insurance benefits cannot both be claimed for these consultations. Patients must choose whether to access one or the other.
